A wear adjustment member for ornaments which brings about high wearability without impairing beauty; and a protective member which prevents the back side of an ornament from soiling or deteriorating. The member for ornament wear adjustment is characterized in that the member partly or wholly comprises a deformable liquid absorbent material, such as, e.g., a water-absorbing polymer, and hence is changeable in thickness to have improved adhesion. Thus, the wearability of an ornament in a ring or arc form, such as a ring, bracelet, or wristwatch, can be heightened by a means which is not conspicuous when viewed externally.
