[Also in Division C4] 2,21 - Dimethyl - 4,41 - di - [N,N - di - (#- cyanoethyl) - amino] triphenylmethane - 411- sulphonamide is prepared by reacting 1-N,N-di- (# - cyanoethyl) amino - 3 - methylbenzene either with benzaldehyde-4-sulphonic acid amide or with benzaldehyde followed by treatment with chlorosulphonic acid and thionyl chloride and subsequently ammonia.
