Cpds. with detergent properties at high temps. comprising metal-, ammonium- or org. base derivatives of cpds (I) where X=COOH, -OH, -SH or -SO3H, Y=H or (if X is not COOH) III, Rx = H or C1-4 hydrocarbon grp., and R' and R" = or hydrocarbon grp. Pref. the metal metal salt is a salt of an alkali(ne earth) or grp. III metal, esp. a Ca salt, or an ammonium salt, or a salt of an org. base such as pri. or sec. amines such as ethylene diamine or etraethylenepentamine. R' and R" may both be hydrocarbon, or (pref.) R' = H and R" - C20-150 hydrocarbon grp., esp. a polyisobutylene grp. Add at 0.1-20% (esp. 1-10%) to oils or 0.001-5% (esp. 0.005-0.5%) to fuels to give products with good detergent properties at high temps. |
