The device has a housing (13) and an axially movable piston (15) that is divided into two parts that are connected with one another. One part has a seal within a groove for sealing against inner sides of the housing. An axial intermediate space is formed between the parts. The housing and piston are designed in rectangular shape in cross section. The seal and a sealing unit are formed as a ring unit corresponding to the cross section.
