The present invention, in a catalyst temperature raise-up system of an internal combustion engine that raises a temperature of a catalyst provided on an exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine and having an oxidizing function, aims at controlling, when raising the temperature of the catalyst, the temperature of the catalyst at a target temperature with higher accuracy. In a case of exhaust throttling being conducted when executing post fuel injection in order to raise the temperature of the catalyst provided on the exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine and having the oxidizing function, a fuel injection quantity per unit time injected by the post fuel injection is set larger than in a case of the exhaust throttling not being conducted.
