The present invention is directed to the preparation of antibodies against a human chitinase-like protein. This human chitinase-like protein is considered to be involved in Th2-type inflammation/allergies. Its detection is proposed to be useful for the prognosis/alleviation of effects associated with the glucocorticoid therapy, and for the determination of the individual reactivity of patients on glucocorticoid therapy.
