The open fire includes a combustion chamber (3), at least one door (1, 1') movable to an opened position for access to the combustion chamber, and a closing device which causes the door to move from open to closed, shutting off the combustion chamber, of its own accord. The closing device is arranged to that the movement of the door from open to closed can be prolonged during at least one sector of this motion.
