The invention consists of a system and apparatus arranged to perform a method for setting up a call spanning at least two nodes in a communications network (100), which comprises the steps of: determining, upon receiving a request for setting up a call between said nodes, a bandwidth requirement of said request (3); verifying, upon determining said bandwidth requirement, if said request can be accommodated by an existing tunnel between said nodes with sufficient unused reserved bandwidth between said nodes (6); allocating, upon verifying that said request can not be accommodated at least one further tunnel between said nodes with a predefined bandwidth block (7); and setting up said call (8).
