Device for actuating a valve (7) in a fire extinguisher comprises a power translator (6) having a pressure inlet (75) which is connected to a working line (87) leading to a working cylinder (88) via a releasing valve (65). The releasing valve is opened by sliding a control slide by a delay unit (1). Preferred Features: A pressure line (76a) leads from the pressure inlet to the control slide chamber (72). The pressure line is closed by the control slide in a preparation position and a channel (77) leads from the control slide chamber into a release piston chamber (86) which actuates the releasing valve.
