PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling a servo of a digital video camcoder and a method thereof are provided to perform frame locking in normal tracking state after performing ATF(Automatic Track Finding) in a digital video camcoder in order to produce a stable servo. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a servo of a digital video camcoder includes following steps. ATF(automatic tracking finding) error is compared with an ATF predetermined reference signal, and the automatic tracking finding is performed by controlling the speed of a motor according to the compared result. A synchronous flag at an initial portion of track data is detected when the ATF error is below a specific level, and the frame is locked. The ATF error is compared with the ATF reference signal when the previous track is a predetermined pilot frequency track. The speed of the motor is controlled according to the compared result and the frame is locked when the ATF error is below a specific level. |
