Flocculating agent for reducing the content of suspended material in an aqueous medium consists of a wax dispersion. Use of the flocculating agent enables the content of suspended material in aqueous media to be economically reduced. Rapid flocculation and sedimentation of the suspended solids is obtained at a relatively low cost. The dissolved phosphates content of aqs. media can also be economically reduced.
