The filter, for treating exhaust gases emitted from an internal combustion motor, is formed by at least one strip layer (1) in a structured width and length and a thickness, using a fiber mat material (16) which allows a fluid flow through it. The filter layer has at least one metallic reinforcement zone (2) with a sheet layer (3), in smaller dimensions, for stability and to give a joint with adjacent sheet layers.
