A method is disclosed, for the controlled generation of heat, characterised in that burning charcoal is retained in an essentially closed burning chamber with at least one fine-mesh screen wall for the radiation of heat. A heat source, with a charcoal bowl, particularly for carrying out said method, is characterised by an essentially upper cover with a fine-meshed screen (24) and by at least one ventilation opening (18, 19), into which an air supply line opens in a lower region of the charcoal bowl (16), to which an air flow generator (32), in particular a fan, may be connected. |
