<p>A rotor (3) is provided with slits (22, 24, 26, 28) as flux barriers for cutting off magnetic fux. Forward rotating direction of the rotor is shown by an arrow when a vehicle advances. The width of the slits becomes narrower sequentially from the forward lagging direction toward the forward advancing direction. Since interlinking flux increases in the direction reverse to the forward direction shown by an arrow as compared to that in the forward direction, high torque and high counter electromotive force are generated and motor output is not produced in that direction unless a high voltage is applied. Torque generated in the reverse direction is thereby used in regeneration operation. With such an arrangement, it is possible to provide a vehicle drive system exhibiting balanced performance in powering operation and regenerative operation and a vehicle comprising it.</p> |
