The invention relates to a cylinder for shaping flat material, said cylinder comprising a cylindrical body (01) that can be rotated about a cylinder axis, and at least one group of a plurality of tools (02) homogeneously distributed around the periphery of the cylindrical body, said tools being able to perform a working movement in relation to the cylindrical body and being respectively coupled to a control device (16, 17, 17') for driving the working movement. Said cylinder also comprises a fixed cam plate (07) traced by the control device of each tool, and a rotatable cover disk (08, 14, 53) traced by the control device of each tool and coupled to the rotation of the cylindrical body (01). The cam plate comprises a peripheral section (11) which controls the working movement in co-operation with the control device, said section representing a maximum of 1/n of the entire periphery of the cam plate, when n is a whole number equal to, or larger than, 2, in addition to a section that does not control the working movement and represents the remainder of the entire periphery of the cam. |
