MULTI-CONTAINER ARRAY AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME

An array of extusion blow molded plastic containers can be prepared from a mold having a first mold cavity (302) for blow molding a first container (402), a second mold cavity (304) for blow molding a second container (404), and a manifold cavity (306), continuous with the first and second mold cavities, for blow molding a manifold (406). The mold includes a needle inlet (318) positioned for blowing a gas into the manifold cavity (306). The longitudinal axis (ACl) of the first mold cavity and the longitudinal axis (AC2) of the second mold cavity are non-parallel to a longitudinal axis (AM) of the manifold cavity. The longitudinal axis (AM) of the manifold cavity extends in a direction that is generally parallel to the direction in which a parison is inserted between the mold halves. The array can be prepared from a single parison and a single blow needle.
