<p>A method of wrapping a rubber strip material around a molding drum, wherein the rubber strip material (S) extruded from a die (2) by an extruder (1) is spirally wrapped around the rotating molding drum (5) by an applicator (6) for molding. In this molding, the peripheral velocity (Vd) of the molding drum (5) is lower than, i.e., 0.6 to 0.95 times, the extruding velocity (Ve) of the rubber strip material (S) from the die (2) of the extruder (1), suitably approximately 0.9 times that peripheral speed. Thus, since the rubber strip material expanded by die swell can be contracted, a tire component member can be molded on the molding drum with a high accuracy at all times irrespective of the material of the rubber strip material. As a result, a workability and a shape retainability after the molding can be increased.</p> |
