Radionuclide detector and software for controlling same

A detector (100) for detecting the presence of suspect radionuclides in a target. The detector includes a first detection channel (110) for detecting neutron emissions in the target, a second detection channel (120) for detecting x-ray emissions in the target, a third detection channel (130) for detecting and identifying gamma emissions in the target and a processor (140) coupled to the three channels for receiving the channel outputs, processing them, and determining if a suspect radionuclide is present in the target, providing an alert as appropriate.
