The method involves passing a motor vehicle structure (1) on a surface treatment chain, in which two floor pan panels (3) to be assembled mechanically on the structure frame (11) accompany the structure on the chain. The panels are fixed on the structure through a support. The support is fixed in the cab interior of the structure before the passage on the chain. The panels are then fixed on the support by screws.
