DEVICE AND METHOD FOR VENTILATION OF A COOKING AREA

The invention relates to a device for the ventilation of a cooking area or the space surrounding the same, comprising a ventilator device, a controller for operation of the ventilator device for a time period, during a periodically-repeating time interval in a ventilator setting, further called interval ventilation and an operating device with an interval ventilation input element (4, 13, 24), for activation of the interval ventilation for an interval ventilation mode, whereby the time period and/or the time interval and/or the ventilator setting for the interval ventilation (intermittent operation) may be input by the user, using the operating device (1,10,19). The ventilation of the cooking area can thus be better adjusted to individual requirements of the user by means of said device. An operating device (1,10,19) with few input elements for control of various functions makes input of the desired values simple for the user. Furthermore, further applications are available in general ventilation technology for extractor hoods. A method for the ventilation of a cooking area is also disclosed.
