METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MESSAGE CONTENT BASED POLICY IMPLEMENTATION, EXECUTION AND MANAGEMENT

A method and system for implementation, execution and management of policies. The system comprises a. a policy management layer (PML) operative to define policies using automatic identification of applications extracted from message content, each policy including at least one classifying condition and at least one action; and a policy execution layer (PEL) operative to perform the at least one action on each message following policy directives received from the PML. The method comprises steps of defining the policy using the automatic identification, executing the policy, and monitoring the execution of the policy, whereby the policy is defined and enforced centrally within the network fabric. The policies are applied to applicative messages and their content. Preferably, the messages are selected from the group consisting of a XML message, a SOAP message and an EDI message.
