TRANSFER SWITCH

A transfer switch (300) is formed from a pair of transistors (301, 302) of the same polarity connected in series between an input (304) and an output (305) and which are responsive to a common control signal (303). The transistors (301, 302) are separately located on electrically isolated portions of integrated circuit substrate. Each of the portions of substrate has an amplifier means (311, 312) which operates to raise the voltage of the respective portion of substrate to a voltage close to that on the terminal (304, 305) of the respective transistor (301, 302). This significantly reduces leakage current from terminal (304, 305).
