The invention concerns the design of a novel arteriovenous extracorporeal circuit used in hemodialysis in patients suffering from renal failure; said novel circuit enables novel functions to be performed by the physician which have beneficial effects on the quality of hemodialysis and on the patient's safety. Among these novel manipulations, the following can be mentioned: extraction of blood clots formed in the circuit; high-flow rate rinsing of the circuit and of the dialyser. The invention concerns this novel circuit and its components (a novel arterial bubble trap, a novel venous bubble trap, a recycling line, a blood clot sensor) and to protect all the types of their constituent assemblies as well as the various models of the novel extracorporeal hemodialysis circuit.
