Disclosed herein is a semi-solid composition that comprises a vasoactive prostaglandin; a skin penetration enhancer; a shear-thinning modified galactomannan gum; a lipophilic compound; water and an acidic buffer system. Also disclosed is the use of said composition for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition for treating erectile dysfunction in a patient needing such treatment, whereby the pharmaceutical composition is suitable for application to the fossa navicularis of the patient.
