PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiplication circuit and a division circuit each with very simple configuration. SOLUTION: In this multiplication circuit or division circuit, a voltage drop element, a circuit disposed with series circuits in parallel in each of which each of a pair of shunt elements is connected to each element of a pair of the PN junction elements in series, and a constant current source (a first signal input current source in the case of the division circuit) are sequentially connected in series from one end of a power source to the other end, the first signal input current source (a second signal input current source in the case of the division circuit) is applied to one of the pair of shunt elements in parallel, potential of a connection point of each the element of the pair of the PN junction elements and each of the pair of the shunt elements is applied to as a differential input of a transconductance amplifier, a current of a common emitter of a differential amplifier first-stage transistor of the transconductance amplifier is supplied from the second signal input current source (the constant current source in the case of the division circuit) through a current mirror, and a current value of the constant current source (the first signal input current source in the case of the division circuit) is kept constant.
