DEVELOPMENT DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development device capable of preventing deterioration in the quality of printed images. SOLUTION: The developing device shown in Fig. 1 comprises a developing roller 2 disposed opposite a photoreceptor drum 1; a toner layer thickness regulating roller 3 disposed opposite the developing roller 2 and rotated in the same direction as that of the developing roller 2; a toner supply roller 4 for supplying toner to the developing roller 2; a toner layer thickness regulating blade 5, disposed in firm contact with the toner layer thickness regulating roller 3; and nonmagnetic toner 6 stored in a toner hopper 7. The toner layer thickness regulating roller 3 is a roller of conductive rubber, such as silicone rubber whose electrical resistance is in the range of 105to 108[Ω] and the surface roughness Rz is not smaller than 6 [μm] but is not larger than 20 [μm].
