PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal with a television telephone function that makes a user recognize that the terminal is not frozen during a line connection not to make the user feel uneasy. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the communication terminal with the television telephone function equipped with a video input means 5 of inputting video data to be transmitted to an opposite terminal and a video display means 4 of displaying video received from the opposite terminal 5 and user interface information based upon an indication from a main CPU 1. The communication terminal displaying an image showing that a television telephone connection is being made on the video display means 4 when the connection of television telephone is started, an image showing that the connection procedure is completed on the video display means 4 when the connection procedure of television telephone is completed, is displayed, and a received image of the opposite terminal is displayed on the video display means 4 when the image is received from the opposite terminal.
