PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas cutoff device capable of recognizing the soundness of a driving circuit in a cut-off valve. SOLUTION: This gas cutoff device comprises a microcomputer 7 that has a timer section 6 for measuring the time on receiving a flow rate signal sent from a flow rate detecting circuit 4 and determining long-time gas non-use when the time is a predetermined time or more, and outputs a cut-off signal to a cut-off circuit 3 in the long-time gas non-use. Thus, the cut-off circuit 3 and the cut-off valve 2 are driven and the gas passage is blocked, thereby the soundness of the cut-off circuit 3 and the cut-off valve 2 is confirmed.
