PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a impact monitoring system to surely and highly accurately measure impacting characteristics of a impacting member without erroneous operation. SOLUTION: On condition that infrared sensors PS0, PS1 detect passage of a golf club head 12 and a microphone SS detects impacting sound of a golf ball 14, images of the golf ball 14 are taken by CCD cameras C0, C1, C2 at prescribed timing. Ball impacting characteristics such as ball speed, shooting angle, shooting direction, back spin, side spin are calculated from position data of the images. The result is displayed on a display 22.
