<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology whereby a device can receive provision of a service even when the device has no function compatible with the service. <P>SOLUTION: A function server executes input/output media conversion processing to provide a service to a composite machine. Since this processing is executed by a conversion module selected so that the processing obtains a processing result (data) in a medium compatible with a function realized by an input output device of the composite machine, that is, by these input output devices (s2504, s2514), the composite machine can realize the function of the composite machine on the basis of the processing result obtained in this way. Then the composite machine can indirectly receive the provision of a service according to the processing result of a medium compatible with the composite machine itself (a medium capable of being compatible with a realizable function) even if the service requires a function not possessed by the composite machine itself. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
