<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly detect an overcurrent abnormality, even when a frequency is changed when driving current of an electric motor in an electric power steering device exceeds an overcurrent threshold value. <P>SOLUTION: This control device is provided with an electric motor control means to supply driving current to the electric motor based on steering torque added to a steering system. The control device is provided with an abnormality judgment value calculation means for calculating an abnormality judgement value by adding a first prescribed value to the abnormality judgment value (step S36) when a driving current detection value detected by a driving current detection means exceeds the overcurrent threshold value by comparing the driving current detection value with the overcurrent threshold value and by subtracting a second prescribed value smaller than the first prescribed value from the abnormality judgment value (step S33) when the driving current detection value is below the overcurrent threshold value, and an abnormality detection means (step S38) for detecting the overcurrent abnormality when the abnormality judgment value calculated by the abnormality judgment value calculation means exceeds a third prescribed value larger than the first prescribed value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
