<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a usability-improved digital camera that enables an image to be imaged to be longitudinally or laterally expanded and to be confirmed before a shutter release button is depressed, and when the shutter release button is depressed, records the expanded image at that time. <P>SOLUTION: The digital camera 1 is provided in which an image of a subject imaged by an imaging portion 3 is inputted to an image processing portion 4. The image processing portion 4 generates a longitudinally expanded image or laterally expanded image by expanding the inputted imaged image longitudinally or laterally according to a set longitudinal expansion rate or lateral expansion rate, and inputs the image to a display portion 5.
