PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glove box which has options of operating modes in response to the operating situation or an article to be housed or the like. SOLUTION: For this glove box 30, a front surface panel 42 is vertically slidably arranged on the front surface side of an article housing main body 32. In this case, the article housing main body 32 is arranged in a manner to face the opening section 14 of the instrument panel 10, and is turn-displaced between a first position at which the article housing main body 32 is housed in the instrument panel 10 and closes the opening section 14, and a second position at which the taking out/putting in of an article is allowed by tilting the article housing main body 32 to this side of the instrument panel 10. The front surface panel 42 is respectively held at a closing position for closing the opening section 14 and an opening position for opening the opening section 14 by a locking mechanism 50 at the first position. Then, when the front surface panel 42 is moved downward by releasing the locking mechanism 50, the opening section 14 is opened, and the taking out/putting in of articles can be performed to the article housing main body 32 located at the first position.
