PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that operating efficiency of planting is deteriorated from the layout of each part constituting a machine for planting sweet potato seedlings. SOLUTION: The machine 1 for planting the sweet potato seedlings is equipped with a pair of right and left front wheels 2 and 2 and a pair of right and left rear wheels 3 and 3 and a traveling machine body 4 in which the vertical height is controlled according to the ridge height. The traveling machine body 4 is provided with a seedling-transporting platform 12 for driving a transportation belt 21 holding the sweet potato seedlings and transporting the seedlings and planting claws 20R and 20L taking over the seedlings from the seedling-transporting platform 12 and repeating reciprocating movement to thrust into the ridge in a state of gripping the seedlings interlocking with the traveling of the traveling machine body 4 and a handle frame 7 used also as a rear frame of traveling machine body 4. The seedling-transporting platform 12 is arranged overlappingly with or at the rear of the rear wheels 3 and 3 in the front and rear directions and protrudes from each of the right and left rear wheels to the outside in the front and rear directions. The handle frame 7 is arranged so as to extend from the seedling-transporting platform 12 to the rear in the front and rear directions and kept between the right and the left rear wheels 3 and 3 in the right and left directions.
