According to the present invention, a method of producing ethers, which includes subjecting a conjugated diene compound and an alcohol to a telomerization reaction in the presence of a composition containing a palladium compound, an isocyanide represented by the formula (I) <?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?>R<SUP>1</SUP>R<SUP>2</SUP>R<SUP>3</SUP>CNC (I) <?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?> and a base represented by the formula (II) <?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?>M(OR<SUP>4</SUP>)<SUB>n </SUB> (II) <?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?> as a catalyst is provided. According to the method of the present invention, by telomerization reaction of a conjugated diene compound and an alcohol, ethers can be produced industrially advantageously.
