Room thermostat radiator valve includes a bellows type thermostat 10-13 carried externally on the valve. The thermostat is carried in screw-threaded engagement with a member 5 of thermally insulating material fixed in the valve body 1. The bellows is fixed to the end of the threaded sleeve 12 and has a cap 14 inside the domed thermostat chamber 6 which engages the valve stem 8. An annular adjusting knob 17 surrounds the thermostat and allows a free flow of air in all positions, up through the knob round the dome 10. This avoids stagnant air and prevents false actuation. Askirton the dome 10 is located in notches 15 in fins 16 in the knob. The knob is rotationally secured to the skirt by a screw 18. The valve member comprises a sleeve 24 with a conical closure surface. This sleeve is sealed at the upper end to the body to provide a balance chamber 28, and has an override spring connection with the stem 8. If the lower connection 3 is used as the inlet, the valve functions as a relief valve in closed position. |
