PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which can enhance the quality of a composite pattern by forming a printing pattern to be a preliminarily set predetermined positional relation to at least two reference marks on a working cloth, and forming an embroidery pattern and the printing pattern to be a preliminarily set predetermined positional relation to the working cloth. SOLUTION: The printer 4 is equipped with a detecting means 67 with an image read sensor 44 which detects the reference marks that show two reference positions recorded on the working cloth held by a cloth holding frame 55, and a frame transfer instructing means 68 which operates a frame transferring device 60 on the basis of detected information from the detecting means 67 and instructs the frame transferring device 60 to transfer the cloth holding frame 55 to make the two reference marks sequentially agree with a printer reference position.
