PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a first switch for controlling application of a first drive signal to a piezoelectric element and a second switch for controlling application of a second drive signal to the piezoelectric element from being simultaneously turned on. SOLUTION: First selection data q0-q3 for determining an application condition of the first drive signal COM_A to the piezoelectric element 417 and second selection data q4-q7 for determining an application condition of the second drive signal COM_B to the piezoelectric element is output from a control logic 84. When the selection data q0-q7 does not represent the simultaneous application of the first drive signal COM_A and the second drive signal COM_B to the piezoelectric element, an inspection circuit 85 outputs the selection data as the inspected selection data q0d-q7d. When the selection data represents the simultaneous application of the first drive signal COM_A and the second drive signal COM_B to the piezoelectric element, the inspection circuit 85 continuously outputs the inspected selection data which has been output up to that time.
