<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide all-purpose file conversion processing as a common file conversion server on a network. <P>SOLUTION: A client server device 101 is provided with; an element management part 108, which manages the attribute of a connected printer 110, a composition information management part 103; a network communication part 107 which transmits, to a server device, a print file and the attribute of a printer, and receives a converted file, whose format is converted to conform to the printer, from a server device; and an output management part 104 which controls the output of the format-converted file. A server device 112 is provided with; a network communication part 113 which receives the attribute information of the printer and the file from the client device and transmits the converted file to the client device; a conversion management part 115 which analyzes the attribute information, selects a format conversion module, which is suitable for the printer, from a plurality of format conversion modules, and determines the conversion attribute of the format conversion module from the attribute information; and a conversion engine 118 which executes format conversion processing according to the conversion attribute. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
