METAL CARRIER FOR EXHAUST GAS PURIFYING CATALYST

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal carrier which ensures the plate strengths required in its respective parts and suppresses pressure loss at its center part without using a complicated manufacturing method.

SOLUTION: The metal carrier 12a is used in an exhaust gas purifying catalyst arranged in an exhaust passage and has a large number of fine passages 13 provided so as to extend in an exhaust gas flowing direction. The partition parts of the fine passages 13 are increased in partitioning thickness from the center side in the cross section crossing the exhaust gas flowing direction at a right angle to the outer peripheral side.
