<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accept registered mails by even mailboxes other than teller windows at post offices and provide a good mailing system at an appropriate timing for mail users to improve convenience. <P>SOLUTION: The system is provided with a mailbox body 9 into which mails are posted, a mail ID applying means 47 which applies mail ID for identifying mails 8 posted, a printing controlling means 41 which prints the mail ID applied to a part of the mails 8, an information transmitting means 46 which transmits information to a mail management center that the mail ID is applied to the mails, and a main controlling means 40 which controls various transactions including applying of mail ID by the mail ID applying means 47, recording of the mail ID by the printing controlling means 41, and transmitting and receiving of information by the information transmitting means 46.
