<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline protease exhibiting high detergency and productivity by further enhancing the detergency of an alkaline protease effective against complex dirt and enhancing the specific activity and heat-resistance of an enzyme. <P>SOLUTION: The alkaline protease is obtained by applying the substitution and/or insertion of one or more amino acid residues selected from (a) to (e) described below to an alkaline protease having a specific amino acid sequence or an alkaline protease functionally equivalent thereto, and exhibits a specific activity and/or detergency higher than those of the alkaline protease having the specific amino acid sequence: (a) the amino acid residue at position 133 or at a position corresponding thereto; (b) amino acid residues at 133 and 134 positions or at positions corresponding thereto; (c) the amino acid residue at original position 134 or at a position corresponding thereto; (d) the amino acid residue at original position 135 or at a position corresponding thereto; and (e) the amino acid residue at position 132 or at a position corresponding thereto. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
