<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform two-way translation between a plurality of languages, and translation to a plurality of objective languages from a source language at high speed with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: This translation device has: a translation memory produced by assigning, character by character to one node from a root node of a tree structure toward a terminal node about one language, comprising a plurality of retrieval dictionaries each corresponding to one of the plurality of languages, and cyclically linking the terminal node of a parallel translation sentence in each language; an extraction means extracting a character string corresponding to an inputted text from the retrieval dictionary; and a translation memory engine cyclically searching the retrieval dictionaries about the plurality of languages, extracting the node linked to the terminal node of the character string extracted by the extraction means, and extracting a translated sentence of the objective language by tracing back to the root node from the extracted node. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
