PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device which records genre information for view limitation of a program etc., on a disk and easily places view limitation in reproduction. SOLUTION: The disk device records necessary information on or reproduces the recorded information from a disk type information storage medium 1 which has lead-in areas, user data areas, and lead-out areas and where the genre of video/audio information recorded in the user data areas can be recorded in a block of the lead-in areas as text data, wherein the disk device is equipped with: an input means 22 for inputting commands and information relating to information recording/reproduction of the disk type information storage medium 1; and a control means 16 for comparing kind information on the genre read out of the lead-in areas with genre data in a memory 17 during information reproduction of the disk type information storage medium 1 after storing kind information of the genre by input operation of the input means 22 as genre data in the memory 17, canceling the reproduction of video/audio information corresponding to the genre when both match each other.
