<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the disconnection of a communication path to the minimum, which is caused by the constitution change such as trouble in a link constituting the communication path with the links aggregated therein. <P>SOLUTION: In a layer 2 switch 10, link tables 14 for controlling a distributor 11 to sort MAC frames 50 to an aggregate trunk 23 including a plurality of physical ports p1, p2 (link 22) are previously generated for the portion of the combination of constitution of the links 2 in the aggregate trunk 23. When the number of links 22 for constituting the aggregate trunk 23 is changed by the trouble, etc., a table selector 15 performs changeover into the corresponding link table 14. Even when the number of links 22 constituting the aggregate trunk 23 is changed, it is only required to perform changeover into the link table 14 corresponding to the constitution after change and the link table 14 itself is not required to be rewritten.
