PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wrinkles on a surface of a capillary member capable of directly coupling a coupling section between a liquid storage chamber and a capillary member storage chamber with an air communication hole, or wrinkle capable of directly coupling an ink supply hole with the air communication hole and the coupling section. SOLUTION: This ink cartridge comprises the capillary member storage chamber that has the ink supply hole for supplying ink and the air communication hole and is adapted to store the capillary member for absorbing to hold the ink, the liquid storage chamber which is substantially sealed except the coupling section communicating with the capillary member storage chamber, and a partition wall except the coupling section partitioning the capillary member storage chamber to the liquid storage chamber. A cross section of which the area is minimized in the cross sections which are roughly parallel to the surface of the capillary member compressed to be stored in the capillary member storage chamber is formed in a region which is not interfered with two or more portions including a portion adjacent to the coupling section of the capillary member, a portion adjacent to the ink supply hole and a portion adjacent to the surface contacting the atmospheric air.
