PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program reproducing device enabling a user to watch a program without any need to carry out complex installing work such as adjustment when a sensor for detecting the user is attached, and without missing any parts of the program. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a video content reproducing means 12 for reproducing a program based on program data stored in a storing means 11, and a control means 16 for controlling the video content reproducing means 12 to hold the reproducing position of the reproduced program data when the program data are reproduced by the video content reproducing means 12 at the time of the stop of a vehicle engine, and to reproduce a program from a position before a predetermined time from the held reproducing position when the engine starts after the reproducing position is held.
