PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing device capable of improving operability in reproduction for a series of a plurality of contents recorded by periodic recording, a reproducing method, and a program for the same. SOLUTION: An HDD 105 or an optical disk 120 is random accessible, and records a plurality of video contents same in a part or the whole of content constitution with lapse of time. A microcomputer 110 has a function to read out the video contents from the HDD 105 or the optical disk 120 and to perform ordinary reproduction by controlling a decoder section 108, an OSD 113, an ATAPI I/F section 104, etc., and a function to perform special reproduction. The microcomputer 110 generates the ordinary reproduction period information which is the information relating to the period when the ordinary reproduction is performed in reproducing the first video contents and the information that can be utilized at the time of reproducing the second video contents.
