PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly convenient retrieval system which can be easily used by anyone by performing retrieval by using a browser function on an information processor by using a sheet on which a document is recorded as a medium for making a request for retrieval. SOLUTION: This information processor is provided with a proper marking means for applying a mark by selecting a desired word on a paper document, a reading means for reading the mark applied by the marking means, a character recognizing means for recognizing a word applied with the mark read by the reading means as a keyword and an information output means for retrieving the keyword recognized by the character recognition means by the retrieval engine of the network, and for making an operation panel display the retrieval result, and for printing out desired information.
