PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a person to confirm whether gas is being used as quickly as possible, while the person is out, in an energy monitoring system. SOLUTION: It is possible, to confirm whether energy is being used or what amount of energy is used in the outside. A communication device 12 inquires about a measurement value to a gas meter 11 (S3a), compares the value with a previously inquired measurement value (S5), and determines that energy is not being used when the two measurement values accord (S6). Therefore, it is possible to inform a user of a result which relieves the user and reduce power consumption by reducing the number communication frequency with the gas meter 11 to the minimum.
